Roberta S. Klar, AIA, NCARB     Principal Architect

Roberta founded Roberta Klar Architects, Inc. in 1992, working on both residential and commercial projects. The following year, Steven L. Klar joined her and the firm evolved into Klar and Klar Architects. From 1985 until founding her own firm, she held professional positions at several architectural firms in the Tampa Bay area. As Principal Architect, Roberta concentrates on design and project management. In addition, she handles the day-to-day project and business affairs of the firm.

Roberta is a 1985 graduate of the University of Minnesota and holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Since 1998, she has been an Adjunct Instructor at St. Petersburg Junior College, in the Architecture Department.

Steven L. Klar, AIA, NCARB     Principal Architect

Steve co-founded Klar and Klar Architects with Roberta S. Klar in 1993. From 1983 until joining Roberta and founding Klar and Klar Architects, he held professional positions at architectural firms in the Tampa Bay area. As Principal Architect, Steve concentrates on marketing, design and construction administration of commercial related projects.

Steve is a 1983 graduate of the University of Minnesota where he received a Bachelor of Architecture degree. In 1982, he was awarded with an honorary degree in Chinese Architecture from Tianjin University, in the Peoples Republic of China, where he studied and traveled. Since 1989, Steve has been an Adjunct Instructor at St. Petersburg Junior College, in the Architecture Department.

Josie Hyde Loyd     AIA, NCARB, LEED AP

Josie graduated with a Masters Degree in Architecture from the University of South Florida in 2004 and became a registered Architect in 2007. She has been employed with Klar and Klar as an intern since 1999. She has worked on residential, commercial, and theming projects. Josie studied Architecture abroad in Florence, Italy in 2002. She grew up in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and spends her free time mountain biking.

Tim Knowles     AIA Associate/Project Manager

Tim joined the team in 2002. He graduated with a Master's Degree in Architecture and Community Design from the University of South Florida in 2005. He has worked on various projects in the residential and commercial realm. Tim has a strong background in presentation renderings and 3D computer-based modeling. On his time off, he most likely will be on the local golf course or on the sunny beaches in the area.

Harold Espaillat     Intern Architect/Project Manager

Harold graduated with a Master's Degree in Architecture from the University of South Florida in 2004. He has worked on residential and commercial projects with the firm and has a strong background in computer-generated presentations and models. Harold has lived in Seminole, FL for 14 years now and is an avid sports fan for Tampa Bay teams.

Adam Kovacs     

Adam joined Klar and Klar Architects in 1995 and is an intern architect. He initially was instrumental in organizing Klar and Klar Architects 3D computer modeling capabilities.

He has a Masters Degree in Architecture from the University of South Florida. Adam is a Florida native, growing up in the Tampa Bay Area.

Vera Porter-Liberti     Registered Interior Designer

Vera graduated with a Bachelor of Design Degree with a major in Interior Design from the University of Florida in 2002 and became a registered Interior Designer in 2005. She also has a Minor in Architecture. Vera has a strong background in 3D computer renderings. She is from Dunedin, FL and is an avid runner.

Teari Haefs     Office Manager

Teari graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 1992 from the University of Tampa and a Master's Degree in 1996 from the University of Tennessee. She has been employed with Klar and Klar since 2000. Teari works directly with Steve and Roberta in handling the daily organization and administration of the firm. Teari was a volunteer at the Pinellas County SPCA and has been a member of the Disaster Animal Response Team since 2000.
